Our sailors that took part to our year program of training and races around Europe and World under the guidance of Coach Simone Ricci had extremely good results at European Championship showing a steep performance curve improvement in the last year! After many intense trainings, races and mentoring we are very proud of the show! Starting from the medallists we have the Bronze Medal by Erkut Budak from Istanbul Yacht Club where Simone is the Optimist Technical Director together with Furkan Ozkan Coach.
Erkut was one of the medals candidate also if is a young sailor and he proved his enormous value! Until the last shift he was even potential Gold Medallist but we are happy with his result and from now on we are even more eager for next season!
In the Girls Medals we have a stoking result with the Bronze medal by Margaux Nguyen from Hong Kong with Coach Szymon! Margaux is only 12 yo! She travelled a lot and put many hours in the last two seasons in our Sopraventus program and she beat incredibly strong and experienced sailors! For a small mistake she got 6 extra points for sail tie missing otherwise this was a Silver Medal!
Anyway history has been done!
Then it’s a fantastic show up by Ernst Akesson from Sweden that finished 6th overall !! If we think that in November in Abu Dhabi the result was deep far down from this it means that in the winter program he grew up technically and mentally extremely fast! Great job Ernst!
In the girls Leah Bernhardtz closed 8th overall. Hat off for a girl that in these years worked very hard and suffering the light wind conditions of Carrara she didn’t gave up and took a place of honor in the top 10! Best wishes for your future in Ilca Leah!
